Installation into softwoods generally do not require pre-drilling or drilling a pilot hole.  DeckTite's self-tapping point is extra sharp which penetrates most materials with ease.  The self-countersinking head design will also seat into most softwoods with little resistance.

HOW MANY TO USE AND WHAT LENGTH

4" nominal width (3.5" actual width) boards require 525 fasteners per 100sf at 16" joist spacing.

6" nominal width (5.5" actual width) boards require 350 fasteners per 100sf at 16" joist spacing.

1" nominal thickness (.75" actual thickness) boards should use 2" length screws.

5/4" nominal thickness (1" actual thickness) boards should use 2-1/2" length screws.

2" nominal thickness (1.5" actual thickness) boards should use 3" or 3-1/2" length screws.

3" nominal thickness (2.5" actual thickness) boards should use 4" length screws.
